Living Green Walls in Dubai

MasterMaint designs, supplies, installs and looks after living green walls for homes, offices, hotels and commercial spaces in Dubai. A living wall is real plants set on a frame with irrigation, planned for your light and your wall.

A living wall, also called a living green wall or vertical garden, needs light, water and regular care. It suits spaces with daylight or grow lighting and someone to look after it. We are based in Warsan 3, Dubai.

Green walls in Dubai: a living wall along a corridor

What is a living wall, and what do our services include?

A living wall is a wall of real plants. The plants grow in a frame fixed to the wall, and an irrigation system brings them water. We design and install living walls in Dubai for villas, offices, hotels and commercial spaces, as part of our wider Green Walls in Dubai service.

Our service covers the site visit, the design and plant selection, the quote, the supply, the installation and the handover with care guidance. One MasterMaint team handles every step, including the irrigation built into the wall.

What is a living wall made of?

A living wall is built in layers. A backing sits against your wall to protect it, a frame holds the planting, the plants grow in a growing medium or in modules, and irrigation and drainage keep the water moving. Where daylight is not enough, grow lighting is added.

We check your wall surface at the site visit, because the surface decides how the frame is fixed.

What light and water does a living wall need?

A living wall needs daylight or grow lighting, a water supply and a way to drain or collect the water. Plants cannot grow without light, so we check the light in your space first. The water supply and the drain are agreed at the same visit.

Irrigation moves the water to every plant on a set routine. Our Irrigation Systems in Dubai page covers irrigation as a service.

Irrigation: our living walls are installed with built-in irrigation, and upkeep visits check the drip lines, timers and moisture sensors where they are installed. Grow lighting is agreed at the site visit where a space has no daylight.

How does a living wall protect the wall behind it?

The backing and the drainage are there to protect the wall behind the plants. The backing separates the planting from your wall, and the drainage carries excess water away. No system replaces a sound wall surface, so we check the surface and its condition at the site visit before we agree the design.

A wall with existing damp or cracks needs attention before a living wall goes on it. We tell you what we find at the visit.

Which plants go on a living wall?

Plants are chosen for the light and the position of the wall. A shaded corridor and a bright atrium call for different plants, and a wall at head height is seen differently from a wall behind a reception desk. We agree the mix with you: the look, the height, the leaf colour and the density.

Plants grow and age, so some are replaced over time. We cover this in the care section below.

Is a living wall right for your space?

A living wall suits a space with daylight or grow lighting and someone to look after it. It needs water and regular care, so it is the right choice when you want real plants and can support them.

Another type is the better choice in some spaces:

We agree the type with you at the site visit, after we see the wall, the light and the access.

For a fuller comparison, read our artificial vs living green walls guide.

Where do we install living walls?

We install living walls in reception areas, offices, hotels and commercial spaces, and in villas and apartments. Each space sets the plants, the size and the position, so we agree the layout with you at the site visit.

Reception, lobbies and offices

A wall behind a reception desk is the first thing visitors see, and a feature wall in an office sets the tone for the floor. We place living walls in reception areas, lobbies, corridors and meeting rooms that have daylight or a place for grow lighting.

Hotels, restaurants and showrooms

Hotel lobbies, restaurant interiors and showrooms use a living wall as a feature that guests and customers notice. We plan the plants and the position around the light, the water point and the opening hours.

Villas and apartments

A living wall suits a villa entrance, a living area or a terrace, and an apartment wall brings real plants where there is no garden. We choose the plants and the size to match the room, and we agree the position with you at the site visit.

Can a living wall go outdoors in Dubai?

Outdoor walls need a system and plants chosen for outdoor use, and indoor designs stay indoors. Direct sun, heat, dust and wind act on the plants and on the system, so we agree the position and the plants with you at the site visit.

Outdoor walls: we design both indoor and outdoor living walls, using plant species suited to each environment.

How does living wall installation work step by step?

Every installation follows six stages, managed by one MasterMaint team. The site visit comes first, because the wall, the light and the water point decide the design and the system.

01

Site visit

We visit, measure the wall, check the surface, the light, the water point and the drain, and agree the position. The site visit is free. You leave with the scope agreed.

02

Design and plant selection

We agree the layout, the plant mix for the light and any grow lighting. The result is a clear design you can check before the quote.

03

Written quote

We send a written quote based on the agreed design.

04

Supply

The frame, the irrigation and the plants are supplied to the agreed design.

05

Installation

We prepare the wall, fit the backing and the frame, connect the irrigation and the drainage, plant the wall and set any lighting. The result is a finished wall in the planned position.

06

Handover

We walk you through the care of the wall and agree any upkeep plan.

Can we make a custom-size living wall?

We design walls to the size and shape of your surface. A custom wall starts with the space: the wall size, the light, the water point and the route the materials take to get in.

To specify a custom wall we need five things:

Custom scope: we match the height, the density and the plant pattern of the wall to your space.

How much do living walls cost in Dubai?

The cost of a living wall in Dubai depends on the design and wall area, the plants, the system and irrigation, any lighting, the height and access, the condition of the wall and any upkeep plan. The guide below shows typical market prices. We confirm the exact price in a written quote after the site visit.

ItemWhat changes the priceTypical market range (AED)
Standard living wall, installedPlants, system, irrigationAbout 450 to 700 per sqm
High-spec plants and smart irrigation, installedPlants, controls, lightingAbout 700 to 1,000+ per sqm
Small feature wall (3 to 5 sqm)Design, plants, accessAbout 3,500 to 6,000 complete
Office or restaurant wall (15 to 25 sqm)Design, plants, accessAbout 9,000 to 25,000 complete
Large commercial wall (50 sqm and up)Size, design, accessQuoted per project
Upkeep visitWall size, scopeAbout 500 to 1,500 per visit

These are market estimates from published Dubai green wall guides in 2026. They are not MasterMaint prices and not a quote.

What affects the price

Your quote lists each part, so you can see what the price covers. We do not publish a price list, because the price depends on the wall, the system and the site.

How long does installation take?

The time depends on the wall area and complexity, whether the chosen plants and system are available, the access to the building and the handover date you set. We confirm the timeline in your written quote.

Published Dubai guides give these typical installation times, once the plants and system are ready:

Four things set the length of a job:

How do you look after a living wall?

A living wall needs regular care, because the plants are alive. The routine depends on the plants, the light and the size of the wall.

We show you how to look after the wall at handover, and our team can look after it for you. Upkeep plans: living walls usually need weekly or bi-weekly visits, set in a written plan. See plant maintenance in Dubai.

How long does a living wall last?

A living wall changes over time, because plants grow, age and are replaced. Light, water and care decide how the wall ages. A wall with enough light and a steady routine stays full for longer. We do not quote a number of years, because it varies with the plants, the light and the care.

Warranty on the wall: published Dubai green wall guides rarely state warranty terms, and they differ between suppliers. Ask for the warranty and the plant replacement terms in writing before you order.

What are the common living wall mistakes?

Most problems with living walls start with the planning. Six mistakes appear most often:

A site visit and a plan for light, water, plants and care avoid all six.

What goes well with a living wall?

A living wall works as part of a planned space. As a landscaping company in Dubai, we also supply the pieces that go beside it.

Living wall FAQs

Living walls are priced by the design and wall area, the plants, the system and irrigation, any lighting, the height and access, the condition of the wall and any upkeep plan. Published Dubai guides in 2026 put a standard installed living wall at about AED 450 to 700 per sqm, and higher for high-spec plants and irrigation. Your written quote after the site visit gives the exact figure.

A living wall changes over time, because plants grow, age and are replaced. Light, water and care decide how the wall ages. Warranty and plant replacement terms differ between suppliers, so ask for them in writing.

The backing and the drainage are there to protect the wall behind the plants, and we check the wall surface at the site visit. A wall with existing damp needs attention before a living wall goes on it. Our protection section above explains how it works.

A living wall needs watering and irrigation checks, pruning, pest control and the replacement of plants as they age. Our team can look after the wall for you, usually with weekly or bi-weekly visits.

A living wall needs daylight or grow lighting. Outdoor walls need a system and plants chosen for outdoor use, and indoor designs stay indoors. We design both indoor and outdoor living walls, using plant species suited to each environment.

The time depends on the wall area, availability of the plants and the system, access to the building and your handover date. Published Dubai guides put a wall under 10 sqm at about one working day and a wall of 10 to 30 sqm at about two to three days. We match the height, the density and the plant pattern to your space.

It depends on the light, the care you can give and the place. A living wall suits a space with light and someone to look after it, while artificial and moss walls need no watering or daylight. Our Green Walls in Dubai page compares the three side by side.

The site visit is free and comes with no obligation. It helps to know the type of space, the approximate wall size, whether the wall goes indoors or outdoors, the light in the space, the position of the water point and the drain, and the access route and height. After the visit we send a written quote based on the agreed design.
