Fire retardant does not mean fireproof, and a fire retardant plant is still damaged by fire. Other suppliers use the words fire-rated, fire-resistant and flame retardant for the same idea, so we use one term on this page: fire retardant.

How does fire retardant treatment work?

A fire retardant treatment is either built into the material or applied to the surface. The two types differ in how the foliage is looked after.

Ask your supplier which type a product has, and ask for the supplier’s care instructions. We match the care guidance to the product at handover.

What should you ask a supplier for?

Ask for the certificate, the test standard and the test report for the exact product and the exact order. A claim in a brochure is not a document, so ask to see the paper.

Check that the product name on each document matches the product in your quote. A certificate that does not name the product does not cover it.

Who decides what your venue needs?

The venue operator, the building owner and the authority for the building set the fire requirement for a space. A supplier does not set it. We work to the document your venue gives us, and we ask for it at the site visit.

A hotel, a restaurant and an office can each have a different requirement, so we note the requirement for each area before we select products.

How do we handle documents with an order?

Ask us which documents are available for each product before you order. We list them in the written quote, so you can check them against your venue’s requirement before anything is supplied.

Warranty: terms differ between suppliers, and many publish none. Ask for the warranty in writing, including what it covers and for how long.

Where do we install fire retardant artificial plants?

We install artificial plants and trees in offices, hotels, restaurants and commercial spaces. Each space has its own fire requirement, so we agree the products with you at the site visit.

Offices and reception areas use plants and trees at desks, entrances and waiting areas. We note the requirement for each floor and select the products to match it.

Hotels and restaurants

Hotel lobbies, corridors and restaurant interiors often come with a written fire requirement from the operator. We ask for it at the site visit and select the products to match it.

Other commercial spaces

Other commercial spaces follow the same steps: we ask for the venue’s requirement, select the products and install them.

Can fire retardant plants go outdoors, and how do you clean them?

Indoor venues are the default for fire retardant plants. Outdoor walls and terraces add sun, heat, dust and wind, so outdoor use is confirmed for each product.

How does installation work step by step?

Every installation follows six stages, managed by one MasterMaint team. The site visit starts the job, because the space and the venue’s requirement decide the products.

We visit, note the areas, the access route and whether the space is indoor or outdoor, and ask for the document your venue requires. The site visit is free. You leave with the scope agreed.

Selection and documents

We agree the plants, the trees, the treatment and the documents your venue needs. The result is a product list you can check against your requirement.

We send a written quote based on the agreed product list.

Supply

The products are supplied to the agreed list, with the documents listed in your quote.

Installation

We place and fix the plants, trees and panels. The result is a finished space in the planned layout.

Handover

We walk you through the care of the products and hand over the documents listed in your quote.

How much do fire retardant artificial plants cost in Dubai?

The cost of fire retardant artificial plants in Dubai depends on the product type, the size and quantity, the treatment, the documents supplied, the installation and the access. We confirm the exact price in a written quote after the site visit.

How long does installation take?

The time depends on the availability and quantity of the products, the documents required, the access to the building and the handover date you set. We confirm the timeline in your written quote.

Stocked standard pieces are often delivered within a few days in the Dubai market. Treated products and their documents can take longer, so plan the order around your opening or inspection date.

What does fire retardant mean for artificial plants?

Is fire retardant the same as fireproof?

No. Fire retardant slows the spread of flame, and the plant is still damaged by fire. Fireproof means something different, and we do not use the word for artificial plants.

Which certificate or standard should I ask a supplier for?

Ask for the certificate, the test standard and the test report for the exact product and order. Your venue or authority names the standard. We list the available documents for each product in your written quote.

Does the treatment wash off, and how do I clean the plants?

It depends on the treatment type: built into the material or applied to the surface. Follow the care instructions for the product, which we go through at handover.

Can trees and wall panels be fire retardant too?
